This site is designed to provide information about the techniques that are available for the evaluation of the large bowel (colon). The colon is a major site of cancer, and is now the second commonest fatal cancer in the western world, but one that can be effectively treated with good survival rates if detected and treated early enough. Advances in technology and understanding of the disease process have allowed new techniques such as CT colonography to play an increasingly important role in this area. |
